Montgomery is a very small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. With a population of 1,553 people and two associated neighborhoods, Montgomery is the 709th largest community in Pennsylvania. Much of the housing stock in Montgomery was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic boroughs in the country.

Also of interest is that Montgomery has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 8.30% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Overall, Montgomery’s crime rate is one of the lowest in the nation, which makes a great place to live if safety is an important concern.

As is often the case in a small borough, Montgomery doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

The citizens of Montgomery are slightly less educated than the national average of 21.84% for the average city or town: 15.00% of adults in Montgomery have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree

The per capita income in Montgomery in 2022 was $26,193, which is low income relative to Pennsylvania, and lower middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $104,772 for a family of four. However, Montgomery contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.
