Hauula is a very small coastal town (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Hawaii. With a population of 4,018 people and two associated neighborhoods, Hauula is the 35th largest community in Hawaii.

Housing costs in Hauula are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in Hawaii.

There are many members of the armed forces living in Hauula. You will notice when you visit or live here that some of the people you meet or see around town are employed by the armed services - even if they are not always in uniform.

Of important note, Hauula is also a town of artists. Hauula has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Hauula’s character.

A relatively large number of people in Hauula telecommute to their jobs. Overall, about 8.32% of the workforce works from home. While this may seem like a small number, as a fraction of the total workforce it ranks among the highest in the country.
