Trinidad is a somewhat small city located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 8,313 people and three associated neighborhoods, Trinidad is the 61st largest community in Colorado. Much of the housing stock in Trinidad was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 7.88% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Residents of the city have the good fortune of having one of the shortest daily commutes compared to the rest of the country. On average, they spend only 14.22 minutes getting to work every day.
As is often the case in a small city, Trinidad doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
The citizens of Trinidad are slightly less educated than the national average of 21.84% for the average city or town: 14.21% of adults in Trinidad have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree
The per capita income in Trinidad in 2022 was $29,213, which is lower middle income relative to Colorado and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $116,852 for a family of four. However, Trinidad contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.
